Block 1 Training DBE (FBD) Winter 2016<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=\u00a0\u00bbtransparent\u00a0\u00bb border_style=\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00bb][vc_column_text]The learning situation is the heart of the Diversified Basic Education (DBE) program.\u00a0 In order to explore the elements of a learning situation and familiarize participants with the ESL Program of Study and General Introduction to Programs of Study, participants were broken into teams and given a question to research.\u00a0 Each team presented the answer to their question to the other workshop participants.\u00a0 Here are the questions that were distributed amongst the teams:<\/p>\n

  1. What are the elements of a good learning situation? <\/a><\/strong>(ESL Program of Study<\/a>, p.11)<\/li>\n
  2. What is a Family of Learning Situations? What FLS are used in our program?<\/strong><\/a> (ESL Program of Study<\/a>, p. 11-14, 42-46)<\/li>\n
  3. What is a Competency? What are Subject-Specific Competencies?<\/strong> <\/a>(ESL Program of Study<\/a>, p. 17-35)<\/li>\n
  4. What does Subject-Specific Content mean?<\/strong> <\/a>(ESL Program of Study<\/a>, p. 41-56)<\/li>\n
  5. What are Processes and Strategies?<\/a><\/strong> (ESL Program of Study<\/a>, p. 36-37)<\/li>\n
  6. What are Cross-Curricular Competencies?<\/strong><\/a> (General Introduction to the Programs of Study<\/a>, 25-34)<\/li>\n
  7. What are Broad Areas of Learning?<\/a><\/strong> (General Introduction to the Programs of Study<\/a>, 13-22)<\/li>\n
  8. What does Pedagogical Intention mean?<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    A<\/em>s teams explained their answers to each question, the trainers presented the elements of a learning situation created for ANG-4101-2 (Dare to Compare) called Shopping for a Smartphone<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
